Yay summer is almost here!! I’m looking forward to the warm weather and being outside more, how about you?!? BUT there are a few things about summer that can be a nuisance…like bugs and sunburns. (So lets talk about those today!)
You probably know by now my love for essential oils, but what you might not know is that they really do use them every.single.day. 🙂 I have even started hosting classes regularly about how to use them and last week I had one on some of oils to use for summer.
{All the oils I am talking about in this post are from Young Living and therapeutic grade!}
One of my FAVORITES for summer is Purification! I love the smell. It’s great as a bug repellent but also has so many more uses.
Lavender is the Swiss Army knife of all the oils and can be used for almost anything. If you don’t know what to use for something… try lavender. It’s great for seasonal sniffles (when combined with peppermint and lemon) but also for burns and blisters. I try to always apply and re-apply sunscreen but it seems like every year I get a bad burn.
My go-to oil for a headache is peppermint. It works wonders! I don’t know about you, but I get a lot of sun headaches during the summer so this oils is awesome. Peppermint is considered a hot oil but can be used to help you cool down after a hot day too. (Be sure to use a carrier oil like coconut or olive with peppermint.)
What says summer like lemon?? I love to add citrus oils (lemon or Citrus Fresh) to my water bottle {glass only}! It adds a little flavor and helps boost my energy level.
Here are some great recipes to mix up and have on hand through out the summer:
You can find witch hazel and pure aloe vera at most drug or health food stores but you can also get them off of Amazon. (I {heart} my Amazon Prime account!) I get all my glass bottles from Abundant Health,

Thank you for the great information! I just received my Young Living Oils kit a couple of weeks ago! Very eager to learn the best ways to use them.
When you say pure aloe Vera do you mean gel or juice? Thanks!
Channey, it’s liquid aloe vera. 🙂
Yeah! Summertime! At this season I prefer Lavender oil and I’m currently using Lavender Oil and feel so great, very satisfied!
Lavender, it is the most resourceful amongst essential oils! It contains the chemical linalool and linalyl acetate which have been found in multiple studies to be associated with decreasing anxiety and improving mood.
Lavender helps with sleep, head and neck tension, stomach issues or motion sickness, is calming, supports skin health and more. Did You Try YoungLiving?
