I’m not a “resolution” maker. Generally at the beginning of every year, I will make a mental list of things I want to accomplish. I thought this year, I would take some time and write down my goals for the year. So I made my list…
I’m “technically” a stay-at-home mom, but I juggle a LOT of balls. Taking care of my family is my number one job, but I also have a part-time marketing job, two shops and my blog. I find myself worrying about all the things that need to get done, things I want to get accomplished or dreaming about what I could get done if I had more time. Ironically, the things I worry about are not of much importance in the big picture.
With all that said…Yesterday, we went to the Saturday night service at church. During the course of the music portion, we sang “I Surrender ALL.” I hadn’t sang this song in so many years, but it was one of my favorites growing up. The thought of surrendering it ALL is really scary to me. But as we sang, I felt tears welling up and realized this is what I need my goal for the year to be. SURRENDER. I need to think less about what I need “to do” and allow God to have control. (Something that is not easy for me.)
All the other goals, seem small to this one. Did you set a goal for the year? Weither you tend to jump in with both feet or two weeks into the year, have already given up…know this…
