I love this time of year…the house is open, the neighbors are outside, and weekend evenings are spent on the back patio or by the fire!! I also do most of my entertaining from May through September, so I love coming up with new, fun cocktail recipes.  Here’s one of my new favorites, that I thought you might like.

Strawberry Limeade Vodka

Ingredients:

• 1/2 Cup sugar
• 2 cups of strawberries (8-10 large strawberries)
• 3/4 cup of  Vodka
• 4 limes (squeezed)
• 1/2-3/4 cup of water
• blender Directions:
• Mix the water and sugar well in a small pot and then bring to a boil. This will make a simple syrup to add to the cocktail, once it’s cooled.
• Wash and cut the tops off of the strawberries, then add them to a blender with the simple syrup.  Blend until the strawberries are completely liquified.
• Squeeze all four limes into the blender, add the Vodka, and blend everything together one last time.
• Chill or add some ice and serve! (This recipe makes about 4 small glasses.)
