worry

by Angela on March 4, 2012

I am not a huge worrier.  At least not about big stuff!!  I tend to worry about “what ifs.”  I have learned to let go of a lot the older I get but there was a time when I held on to EVERYTHING.

Does anyone else hold their breath when they are worried about something?  I usually don’t realize it  until I am catching my breath, trying to make up all the oxygen that I am missing.  (Just a weird fact about me.)

These days, this is what I worry about most.

Am I raising them in the right way?  Should they go to school today, even if they say they feel better?  Am I teaching them to be responsible?  The list goes on and on…

Hindsight is 20/20, but in college I felt stress and worry probably the most.  Little did I know that I should have been a little less stressed out about that test that I thought would break me!  Life only gets MORE complicated the older we get and the consequences are a lot greater than a poor score on a test.

So, I thought I would share with you a scripture that I would recite back then and still think about when I just need some perspective, now.

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of it’s own.”  Matthew 6:34 (NIV)

What I have learned, is that worry is completely different than being responsible.  Do your very best at everything and God will take care of the rest.

Have a BLESSED day and worry less!
